I would just like to say good luck to the Guernsey team tonight who take on the
Nott’s X1 T20 team who have come over especially for an expedition game.
Earlier today some of the Nott’s players took time out of their schedule to come and help me in one of my schools which happened to be Le Murier school, which was a great benefit for me and the children who were very excited to have some professional players come and coach them.
Tonight the game starts at 5.15 and estimated time of finish is 8.00 COME ON GUERNSEY!!!!!
Hope to see you down there

My time at Vauvert School has come to an end and I must say it has been a great 4
sessions with the year 2’s. They have covered all of the important skills of
cricket which are Bowling, Batting and Fielding.
Over the last for weeks the children managed to catch over 300 tennis balls each,
bowl 150 balls and hit 20 balls each which is a great
achievement.
I hope you enjoyed your cricketing experience.

A week of cricket with no interruptions!!!!
Well with there being no rain all four leagues were able to get the go a head and play, much to thedelight of the young cricketers.
For the under 7 league, 40 cricketers turned up geared up and ready for action, the
structure of the games were 3 pairs in each team and each pair get 4 overs to
bat.
There were some outstanding solo performances that happened on Monday night some of them were a great batting display by Harry Bisson who hit a massive 6!!! (It was a great shot). Another outstanding performance was Ed Ruddy’s bowling which took 3 wickets in his 2 overs.
Thanks
Dave
Hi everyone
Due to bad weather the under 7 didn’t get the go ahead after the rain shot down all
day but I’m hoping next week will be different so we can get under
way.
I’m happy to say that the under 9 league did get underway with the children being
split up into 4 teams but hoping this will increase into 6 teams.
Some very good individual performances went on last night, some of them were Alex’s
and Malacy’s 51 run partnership off 5 overs, some great fielding and bowling
from Josh Duke and a brilliant cover drive by Katrina.
Hope to see you all next week.
Hoops
It was a great first session for Beechwood cricket on Saturday with 30 young
further cricketers turning up raring to go, the format of the morning was two
separate pairs cricket games which meant everyone got a bat and a bowl which was
fantastic.
I must say the standard of fielding for their first session outdoors was amazing,
in my game alone there were 5 direct hits to run the batsman out so you can tell
Mr Sargent has done his work with this team as the batsmen were all playing
proper cricket shots.
Well
I look forward to next week.
Thanks

After narrowly losing the first game to the Sussex Academy by 3 wickets and 8 balls
the Guernsey senior team were still confident that they could still draw the
mini series, and what a final game it was with Guernsey winning off the final
ball of the game.
The day started off with Guernsey losing the toss, which resulted in
Guernsey fielding on a freezing cold day down at the KGV. It didn’t take long
for Guernsey to get wicket when Stuart Bisson surprised the batsmen with a
slower ball bouncer in the 3rd over that he spooned up to mid-wicket which was taken with ease by the
fielder. Then came a very decent partnership by the Sussex number 1 and 3
putting on over 50 for the 2 second wicket until “Mr Cricket” Jeremy frith got
the next wicket which Guernsey desperately needed. At 69 for 2 Sussex look in a
very good place to go on a post a big score but with wickets falling quickly we
managed to keep them to 210, on a pitch that didn’t offer much for the bowlers.
For the Guernsey bowlers the wickets were evenly shared with Mr Cricket, Hooper
and Atchison all taking 2 wickets each.
Now for the Exciting Guernsey chase!!!!!!
What a start Guernsey got off to with Atchison and Ferbrache putting on an opening
partnership of 94 until Ben was given out caught behind off a quicker ball from
the left arm spinner, That brought “Mr Cricket” to the crease, still no need to
panic until once again a Guernsey collapsed happened losing 5 wickets for 85
runs leaving GH Smit and David Hooper 26 needed off 3 overs. The next 2 overs
went for only 15 leaving 11 needed off the last over. VERY
TENSE!!!!
Ball 1: DOT BALL a very good Yorker drill in to middle stump which was well dug out
by the batsmen.
Ball 2: 2 RUNS a low full toss missed hit over mid-wicket for a couple of runs.
Ball 3: WIDE BALL what a great time to bowl a wide which means 4 Balls with 9 still
needed.
Ball 4: 2 RUNS a good length ball hit once again over mid wicket for a couple.
Ball 5: 2 RUNS with the fielder at midwicket pushed back it’s an easy 2 to him.
Ball 6: 4 RUNS!!!! A beautiful lap sweep over final leg for 4!!!! We needed that
Ball 7: 1 RUN!!!! Another low full toss smashed pasted mid-on GUERNSEY
WIN!!!!
WHAT A GAME TO BE APART OFF!!!!!!
Thanks
